Report: Kavanaugh Was A Secret Source In Bill Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky Scandal
June 30, 2020
A new explosive report alleges that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was secretly a whistleblower in former President Bill Clinton’s scandal with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
According to the Daily Mail, Kavanaugh reportedly gave inside details on Ken Starr’s investigation into President Clinton.
Investigative journalist Bob Woodward is reporting that Kavanaugh was one of the secret sources used to expose Clinton’s affair with Lewinsky.
Woodward said Kavanaugh was his anonymous source in his 1999 book Shadow: Five Presidents and the Legacy of Watergate.
The Daily Mail reports:
Bob Woodward, the investigative journalist most famous for his original reporting on the Watergate scandal in 1972, was apparently going to publish a story exposing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as being an anonymous source in his 1999 book Shadow: Five Presidents and the Legacy of Watergate.
Kavanaugh gave Woodward juicy behind the scenes details about Ken Starr’s investigation into Bill Clinton in 1998, while serving as a lawyer on Starr’s team.
But then Kavanaugh publicly denied ever being a source for Woodward’s book in a letter to the Washington Post in 1999.
The fact that Kavanaugh had lied on record enraged Woodward, who was prepared to expose the judge using evidence that he had indeed contributed to the 1999 book. However, just as the story was about to run in 2018, the Washington Post decided not to publish.
Ultimately, the executive editor of the Washington Post, Martin Baron, stepped in and urged Woodward not to breach his 19-year-old confidentiality agreement and to protect Kavanaugh’s anonymity. The piece was ultimately spiked.
Woodward has not revealed what information Kavanaugh gave about Starr and his investigation.
Kavanaugh was serving as one of the lawyers on Starr’s team who were investigating Clinton in 1998.
Starr’s investigation began by looking into allegations that the Clintons were involved in potentially illegal business deals and ventures back in their home state of Arkansas.
However, the investigation turned in the mid-to-late 1990s amid allegations that Clinton was having an affair with Lewinsky, who was serving as an intern inside the White House.
Clinton was impeached in the House of Representatives for having an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky in the late 1990s.
The U.S. House charged Clinton in 1998 with perjury and obstruction of justice for lying about his affair with the young intern inside the White House.
Beyond that, it’s clear to many that this is nothing more than an attempt from Woodward, a washed-up liberal reporter, to gain some attention.
Should have, could have, would have.
Just like John Bolton, these people only seem to come forward with “explosive” information when they are trying to turn a profit from it.
